The Boatswain v3 is a flat leather card holder — same slim profile as the Venturer v2, but with a wider body that fits six to nine cards and a dedicated cash pocket. If you've been using the Venturer and running out of slots, this is the natural next step.

How much it actually carries
Six is the comfortable carry. Nine is possible once the leather has broken in — it starts snug and loosens over the first few weeks. The cash pocket is designed for bills folded in thirds — keeps them flat and retrievable without a billfold compartment adding bulk.

The leather (and why it's named on the label)
Most card holders just say "genuine leather." That tells you nothing. Here's exactly what you're getting:

Crazy Horse (Rusty) — waxed pull-up leather. Scratches rub out with your thumb. Darkens with carry, most character over time.

Ponte / Ponte Wax (Natural, Tan) — vegetable-tanned, smooth finish. Natural is lighter; Tan has a warmer tone. Both patina gradually.

Koala (Cigar, Black) — smooth, even, minimal marking. The cleaner look that stays consistent.
All full-grain — the top layer of the hide, not corrected or bonded scraps. Built to outlast a few phones.
Who it's not for
If you carry fewer than six cards and don't need cash on you, the Venturer v2 is the slimmer choice at $64. If you need a bifold with proper bill compartments, look at the Buccaneer instead.

Not much needed. Keep it out of the wash. A small amount of leather conditioner once or twice a year if it looks dry. It'll look better with age.
