Rescue Knife by Honey Badger Knives
Built for the Moment
It Counts
When a seat belt needs to be cut in three seconds, when a downed responder is tangled in webbing, when you reach for your blade in the dark — there is no room for a tool that fumbles. The Honey Badger Large Rescue Knife was engineered around exactly that scenario.
At the core of the design is a sheepsfoot rescue blade in 8Cr13MoV steel — fully serrated with linear serration geometry that extends effective cutting edge contact far beyond what a straight-edge blade of the same size can achieve. The sheepsfoot tip removes the pointed end entirely, replacing it with a squared-off spine that allows you to drive the blade hard against seatbelts, webbing, and clothing without any risk of puncturing the person you're cutting free.
Deployment is handled by a ball bearing flipper mechanism — a roller bearing pivot that flicks open with a single finger, through gloves, under stress, every time. The Honeycomb FRN handle locks your grip in whether you're dry, wet, gloved, or bare-handed. And the ambidextrous deep-carry pocket clip disappears until the moment you need it.

Choose Your Color
The Honey Badger Large Rescue Knife comes in four colorways — each with a functional purpose.
High-visibility blue stands out in a kit or grab bag for fast visual access under stress. Most requested colorway of the season.
Classic field colorway. Pairs with coyote gear and standard issue kit. Low-profile and discreet — built for environments where you don't want to stand out.
Maximum visibility. The choice for search and rescue, water rescue, and any environment where locating your blade instantly under pressure is non-negotiable.
The original. Blacked-out and mission-ready. Completely sold through — no restock date confirmed.
What Sets It Apart
Every design decision on the Honey Badger Large Rescue Knife traces back to a real-world emergency scenario. Nothing on this knife is decorative.
Roller bearing pivot delivers ultra-smooth one-handed deployment. No drag, no hesitation — flicks open with a single finger under pressure, through gloves, in the dark.
100% serrated blade with linear geometry extends effective cutting edge contact beyond comparably sized straight blades. Dominates synthetic materials — seatbelts, webbing, rope — on contact.
Squared-off tip allows aggressive cutting pressure without puncture risk. Standard-issue logic for EMS, firefighters, and tactical medical personnel who cut near people.
Fiber Reinforced Nylon handles with multi-directional honeycomb texture. Confident grip wet or dry, gloved or bare-handed — even under sustained cutting load.
Positive lock engagement holds the blade open under cutting load. Clean, proven mechanism with predictable engagement and release — no surprises in the field.
Deep-carry pocket clip configures for left or right-hand carry. Rides low and discreet. Pairs with a lanyard hole for secondary retention in a loadout or gear bag.

Real Roles.
Real Stakes.
When a patient is trapped or pinned, standard seatbelt cutters don't always reach. The sheepsfoot blade cuts seatbelts, clothing, and webbing while eliminating the puncture risk that makes pointed-tip knives dangerous in close quarters. Deploys one-handed when both hands can't be free.
The ball bearing flipper opens through structural gloves. Full linear serration handles synthetic rope, harness webbing, and turnout gear that will resist a straight-edge knife. Liner lock holds under sustained cutting load.
Positive liner lock engagement. Ambidextrous carry for any loadout configuration. The deep-carry clip keeps the knife off-profile until it's needed. Sheepsfoot tip means one less variable that can go wrong in a confined space or crowd situation.
Not everyone who carries a rescue knife wears a uniform. At 3.9oz, this knife isn't a burden. At 4.60" closed, the deep-carry clip hides it. At $49.99, it's a tool that actually gets carried — not a display piece left in a drawer.

Frequently Asked
A sheepsfoot blade has a flat cutting edge and a spine that curves down to meet it — removing the pointed tip entirely. In rescue scenarios, this matters because you are often cutting very close to a person. A pointed tip introduces puncture risk. The sheepsfoot eliminates that risk while still allowing full cutting pressure against synthetic materials like seatbelts, webbing, and clothing. It's been standard logic in EMS and firefighting equipment for decades.
A standard EDC knife is optimized for general cutting tasks — opening boxes, food prep, utility work. The Honey Badger Rescue Knife is purpose-built for one-handed emergency deployment under stress. The full serration is tuned for synthetic fibers that resist straight edges. The sheepsfoot tip is chosen for safety around people. The ball bearing flipper is chosen for gloved deployment. None of those are standard EDC priorities — they're rescue knife priorities.
Orange is dropping shortly. It's being positioned as the highest-visibility colorway in the lineup — built for search and rescue, water rescue, and any environment where finding your blade fast matters more than low profile. Notify me on the product page to be first in line when it goes live. It won't last long.
8Cr13MoV is a Chinese stainless steel used widely in production knives. It contains ~0.8% carbon, 13% chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. It takes an edge well, holds it reasonably for a mid-range steel, and resists corrosion in field conditions. For a serrated rescue knife at this price point, 8Cr13MoV is a solid choice — it sharpens easily (important for serrations), holds up to heavy use, and won't rust if you don't baby it.
Knife carry laws vary significantly by state and locality. The Honey Badger Large Rescue Knife has a 3.63" blade, which falls within the legal carry limit in most US jurisdictions — but you are responsible for knowing your local laws. In many states, serrated blades or assisted-opening mechanisms have specific regulations. Check your state and municipal knife laws before carrying.
Yes. The pocket clip is fully ambidextrous — it can be mounted on either side of the handle for left or right-hand tip-up carry. The flipper tab also works from either side. This isn't an afterthought — it's a deliberate feature for users who carry cross-draw or favor their left hand.

Rescue Blue was one of the most anticipated colorways in the lineup. When it dropped, it moved faster than any other variant. Black sold through completely. Orange hasn't arrived yet. Blue is the last colorway with meaningful inventory — and at 2 units remaining, it's essentially gone. Tan is available and a great option, but if you want Blue specifically, this is it.
